Ball mills

Ball mills are mills that use balls as grinding material in fine grinding circuits. They can be operated both wet and dry. The particle size of the feed product can range from 9 mm to 1 mm. Depending on the mill and ball size, final product sizes between 600 and 3 microns can be achieved.

Grinding balls in the mill are produced from spherical, cylindrical or conical shaped cast steel or other wear-resistant material.

Ball mills use steel, rubber, or ceramic plates for their inner linings. Rubber plates are used only in mills operating with wet grinding systems. Ceramic plates are suitable for use in dry systems and when the material being ground contains no iron or iron components. Steel plates can be used in both dry and wet systems.
